First of all I want to thank TEAM ETHOS (My Family) for all your help.  You guys are like magicians, you guys and gals "Always" make magic happen.  Also, to Carlton hair (Lisa Finn) and Makeup Team you Rocked the night as usual ;).  Jason for trusting me to do what I do, Nam (Cham ;)) Brie, Jen B., Jen P. everyone for always being there for me NO MATTER what.  I remember my first Project Ethos September 2008,  it was unreal.  I didn't know anybody (actually met wonderful people that I'm friends with til today) and it was chaotic, I was scared and  excited at the same time.  It was an amazing experience and I never wanted to be apart from Ethos.  When they had the opening for the Key position I didn't hesitate, I mean don't get me wrong I was nervous, scared (I dont even know if anyone knows about this, lol), But I loved my first experience so much that I know this is what I want to do, Forever.  Ok long story short,  I went to Interview with Jason and I remember they told me to bring my Portfolio, which I didn't so I was even more nervous.  I mean I was preparing everything so I dont forget anything and I forget the most important part of my interview, My Work.  Anyway I thought for sure they weren't gonna call me back.  So I waited, and waited a week went by and finally my phone rings and I was scared to answer it,   I answer the phone and I hear Ricky's (Aladort) voice telling me that I got the position.  It was a good day for me I was trying to hide my excitement through my voice, I wanted to get off the phone so i can jump for joy.  Just thought I'd share that with you all.

Last Saturday was great and here are some photos of the Runway

What a beautiful dress, Kenneth is amazing and obviously very talented.  He knows what he wants;)  He went straight to me and told me, " Maria, I want this look (showing me a photo).  I want the eyes darker and the lips red, reallly red)."  And that was that.  I love being around him because he was very calm.  With all the Chaos around me I needed to collect myself.

Sophia Fresh at Project Ethos

Sophia Fresh

As The Key Makeup Artist for Project Ethos, I have the opportunity to meet our Featured Artists.  This is an amazing experience for me.  My sister and I did Skye, Crystal, and Cole Rose's makeup for their performance at the Fluxx in San Diego, CA for Project Ethos.  These ladies are not only talented they are kind, cool and very "Fresh".   I used all Bodyography products on them, they were our sponsor makeup brand for this event.

From left to right: Ria, Hilario Hufana (www.phyto.com), Cole Rose, An-an (My makeup artist sister), Skye, Cristal and Myself.

Me doing Cristal's Makeup

We Pretty much did their makeup the same the only difference is the color that we smoked it out with.  On Cole Rose I did a Purple theme.  Skye and Crystal pretty much got the same look, a very Glamor smoky eye.

I want to thank Marq Mendez and Rover Longdong for the photo

JM Magazine

JM Magazine Holly Madison Issue Dec 2010-Jan 2011

Credits
Photographer:  Charles Gardner
Model:  Holly Madison
Hair and Makeup:  Maria Rivera

This shoot took place in Las Vegas, NV.  It was such an amazing shoot , very low key and laid back.  Usually when I do a shoot with JM Magazine I have at least 10 models for the day and a couple hair and makeup artist to help me along.  Holly Madison is such a great person, very down to earth and really, really nice. She gave me tickets to her show.  I asked once, and she didn't hesitate to give me 3 tickets.  My sister and I watched "The Peep Show" after the shoot was over.  I have never seen a Show in Vegas and I liked "The Peep Show" a whole lot.  You can hear my sister and I oohing and wowing.  It was great and very exciting.  So next time you head to Vegas go ahead and check it out!

Now.... I will show you how I created this look also what products I used to create the entire look.

Eyes

I Started with her brows and used Urban Decay (www.urbandecay.com) Honey Pot in Blonde then I used Fresh Face Cream Makeup in Honey Baby (www.zanacosmetics.com) as an eyeshadow base.  As eyeshadow I used boo beige (brow bone and inner lid) and extra raisin blended with black cat (www.zanacosmetics.com)  Then I applied MAC fluid line in Black Track and used Onyx eyeliner (www.bodyography.com) on the lower lid.  Finished the eyes off with Mascara in Stiletto also from bodyography.

Face

I first sprayed her face with Fix Plus from MAC then I used Picture Perfect Expert Primer all over the face.  I love this primer because it does not have silicone the use avocado extract instead.  I started to apply Fresh Face Cream Makeup in Light beige all over the face and set it with loose powder from bodyography in Golden Beige.  I then used Deliciously Cheeky Blush in Rumba from Zana Cosmetics.

Lips
Rose Wild Lipstick and Nude Diva Glaze

This Cream foundation is is like an eraser.  Works really well on all the imperfections we may have.  Everything they say about this product is TRUE.  Try it for yourself www.zanacosmetics.com

Why I love this Cream Foundation from Zana Cosmetics:
While it's light and silky smooth , this oil-free cream provides full coverage that really lasts. Contain vitamins A, C, and E to nourish your skin. A tiny dab can be used as a concealer to mask under-eye circles or imperfections. Contains anti-acne ingredients to help keep your face blemish-free. Oil-free, Paraben-free

This loose Powder in their Oxyplex collection is very cool.  I have this in my kit at all times.  Its very lightweight but it lasts all day.  It sets the makeup beautifully and doesn't look cakey even when you're building it up.  Two thumbs up!
